Lawyers for Argentem Creek Re-file Motion to Dismiss Kazakhstan’s Suit

Lawyers for Argentem Creek Partners have today re-filed a motion to dismiss, following Republic of Kazakhstan’s decision to amend their original complaint last month.

Paul Butler, partner at Akin Gump and counsel to Argentem Creek Partners, said: “Foreign states with deep pockets cannot be allowed to victimise American investors with endless re-litigation. Kazakhstan’s amendment of their complaint last month does not constitute any meaningful addition to their legal arguments in US, and is  another example of  prevarication aimed at avoiding their obligations under international law.”
